Description:
Conference has been successfully organized on 22 August 2019. All the agencies participate actively and gave positive feedback on the conference. During the workshop and discussion, we have divided it into 3 sessions. First session is regarding the Multi-Agency Collaboration Model. The aims of carrying out this session is to gather input on understanding multi-agency collaboration models among the Sarawak Disaster Management Agencies (SDMA); to share the knowledge and experience regarding collaboration among multi-agency while dealing with stages in disaster management cycle; to understand interest, strategies, agency relationships and internal power relation of the SDMA and all the input will be fed into the academic journal papers. During this session, we asked the participants to answer an online survey using Google Form by using their electronic devices and all the responds have been recorded and submitted to us. So, we will try to analyze it and develop our own collaboration model that can fit the MOBILISE project.

The second and third sessions are the Brainstorming Session. All the participants are required to have a round-table discussion and each table provided with one paper to write down their opinions on the challenges on collaboration and best solutions in enhancing collaboration during disaster management in Sarawak.

From the discussion, we have found out that the most challenges part in disaster management are due to the silo thinking, lack of internal/external coordination, communication problems, lack of data/information sharing among agencies, disaster information are not disseminate properly during disasters and different time of respond among agencies during disaster. Besides, the MoU and MoA signing ceremony between UTHM, Sarawak Multimedia Authority and RS & GIS Consultancy Sdn Bhd during the MOBILISE Sarawak 4.0 conference has been carried out during the conference.
